Utility Coordinator – Worthington, Minnesota

Worthington Public Utilities is currently seeking candidates for the position of utility coordinator. This position performs administrative, technical and professional work in providing support and assistance to the general manager in the overall operation of Worthington Public Utilities.

Desired minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, accounting, administration, science or a related field and three or more years of utility-related work experience. The current salary range for the position is $83,662 to $113,189 annually.

Sewer Collection Maintenance Technician – City of Pierre, South Dakota

The City of Pierre is looking for a sewer collection maintenance tech. This position will repair and maintain sanitary and storm sewer mains. A CCTV van including computer applications to video and inspect sanitary and storm sewer lines. You’ll operate a Vactor truck to clean sewer lines, storm lines, lift stations, and multiple structures located around the city. Performs smoke testing, bypass pumping and flow monitoring.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Class I Waste Water Collection certification from the State of SD Board of Operator Certification after 18 months of employment. Must have or be able to obtain a Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement. Knowledge of the operation of waste water and storm water collection systems and maintenance of related equipment would be beneficial.

SALARY: $22.48 minimum plus comprehensive benefit package including 100% employer paid employee health, dental and life insurance along with a 6% employer match to the South Dakota Retirement System and 12 paid holidays. Up to $2,000 annual educational assistance available. Wage offer will be based upon actual education and experience.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator – City of Pierre

This position comes with a high degree of responsibility for assisting in the operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and lift stations. Monitors the treatment process and performance of related equipment and makes necessary adjustments as indicated by current conditions. Preventive maintenance and repairs are executed on various pumps, blowers, chemical feeders, valves, piping and other equipment used to treat wastewater. The work is performed both indoors and outdoors. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, machinery with moving parts, infectious diseases, raw sewage, hazardous chemicals, and occasional inclement weather. The work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, or gloves. Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interacting with other employees, customers and suppliers in a professional manner is essential. At times, this position works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with staff. On-call duties are required after training period. Education in the field of Mechanical or Engineering Technologies or a related field is preferred. Prior experience in the repair of machinery, equipment and/or operation of related water or wastewater treatment equipment is beneficial. Possession of or ability to obtain a Class A CDL, with an airbrake endorsement is required. State of SD Board of Operator Certification in wastewater within 18 months of employment.

WAGE: $20.48 minimum plus comprehensive benefit package including 100% employer paid employee health, dental and life insurance along with a 6% employer match to the South Dakota Retirement System and 12 paid holidays.
