MRES members recognized as a reliable public power provider

​Five members of Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) are among the 114 public power utilities nationwide to be recognized this year for outstanding service under the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3)® program.

Eleven MRES member utilities and one associate recognized for reliable electric service to their communities

Eleven public power utilities that are members of Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) and one associate have earned national recognition for achieving exceptional electric reliability in 2019. Certificates of Excellence in Reliability were awarded by the American Public Power Association (www.PublicPower.org), a trade organization that represents more than 2,000 not-for-profit, community-owned electric utilities.

WMMPA purchases Marshall, Minn., Wind Farm

The Western Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (WMMPA) on March 31, 2020, executed agreements to purchase the Marshall Wind Farm, comprised of nine 2.1 megawatt (MW) wind turbine generators located near Marshall. The project has a total generation capacity of 18.9 MW.

MRES and WMMPA Annual Meeting Updates

MRES has cancelled the in-person Annual Meetings of Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) and Western Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (WMMPA), scheduled for May 6-7, 2020 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
