COVID-19 Update from MRES

New guidelines were released Monday from the President and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding the spread of COVID-19. They urge self-quarantine and social distancing to slow the spread of the virus and to ensure that enough hospital beds and medical staff will be available to fight this pandemic.

MRES closes Sioux Falls office to the public

In light of South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s decision to close all K-12 public schools, and for the safety of our employees and the general public, MRES has closed its main office in Sioux Falls to public access starting today, Monday, March 16, until further notice. MRES is conducting business as normally as possible, but all meetings where feasible will be held via conference call or webinar.

Farm-in-a-box means fresh local greens year-round

Missouri River Energy Services (MRES), the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), South Dakota State University (SDSU), and Children’s Museum of South Dakota are collaborating on a high-tech “farm-in-a-box” built entirely inside a specialized 40-foot container.
